Induction Sealing ; Closure Lining ; caps ; hermetically seal ; closures ; tamper evidence ; extending shelf life ; product leakage ; oxygen damage

We provide a service to the Plastics manufacturing industry. Wadding or Closure lining is a process that cuts and inserts seals into caps / closures preparing them to be used to seal bottles or containers.

Induction Sealing is a non-contact process, which is used to seal a container after it is filled with product.

Benefits of Closure Lining:

Closure lining technology not only provides efficient tamper evidence but can also improve product shelf life and retain flavour of products.  Closure lining can also help to eliminate moisture and oxygen damage to products.

Most importantly closure lining prevents leakage - it only takes one leaker to contaminate an entire shipment of product which can cause months of disruption.

Industries which use induction sealing:
  • Food

  • Beverage

  • Pharmaceutical

  • Veterinary

  • Nutraceutical

  • Agriculture

  • Auto

What to consider when selecting your seal:

It is important to consider the type of seal you are going to use in conjunction with your packaging as some products can affect the seals integrity.

Different materials are manufactured to suit different packaging options. For example some foil induction liners are made specifically to suit PE whereas they do not work on glass.

Here are some questions to consider:

  1. Is your product wet or dry?

  2. What is the size and shape of your cap?

  3. What type of material is your container made of? i.e.Polyethylene/Polypropylene/Glass/Other

  4. What sort of seal are you trying to achieve? i.e.hermetic / gasket / reseal / clean peel / easy open

There is a large variety of closure lining seal materials available in the market place and we hold in stock a large range. Most products can be sealed using basic, readily available materials, however more specialised materials need to be imported into New Zealand as required.

We are happy to research and dedicate time to test and trial new materials that may be of interest to you.

Depending on what type of packaging you are using i.e. PE /PP/PET/Glass/Other. There are a number of variables that can cause issues at the time of production if they are not thoroughly tested.

It is important to test a seal with your intended packaging and products to ensure its integrity before it reaches the filling line.
